When we first got the inquiry from Ardya and Imal back in October last year the wording was so lovely and personal that we totally knew this will be a fun couple to work with. Ardya has left a super personal message in our inbox and we were super happy, that after more than half a year they could manage to meet with us in order to hang out and do a photo shoot together.
Their story shows again how small this world actually is. Both coming originally from Jakarta they met in Erfurt during their studies abroad. They did not know each other but are actually studying the same subject: Architecture! Two years ago they fell in love with each other but Imal finished his studies already and had to be back home for work.
So the shoot needed to be sometime during his rare visits in Germany. Unfortunately our schedule is note very flexible right now, it’s super high season as many of you know, so we could not make it to Erfurt. But “Hey, why are you not coming to beautiful Austria and we meet there for the shoot, we promise you will like Faaker See and Villach, it’s Carmen’s home town”.
It’s moments like that, when clients put high effort to make things work. They had a nine hours train right, with even overnight in Munich, to get to Villach from Erfurt. Seriously, that means a lot to us!
So we treated them very well in our “home” and had a super relaxed shoot first in Villach “down-town” and later at a secret spot at Faaker See. For the locals, the secret spot isn’t that secret 😉
We are super thankful that the people from the Hotel Karnerhof (were we covered a wedding there years ago) let us shoot at their property and also provided us the nice old rowboat.
It was pretty cold and we did not know if the weather will be kind, but it was, and we also got a couple of fantastic evening light right at the end of the shoot.
We would like to thank you Ardya and Imal so much for the fun times and for the effort you put into all this to make it happen. All the best for your future together and a wonderful wedding in October. We will be in touch and see you again in Bali 🙂
Love from Munich
