About four years ago Andreas contacted us showing interest into an one2one Mentoring session since he wanted to get deeper into photography. He heard about us because his sister has hired us to photograph her wedding and he was her best man.
Shortly after that we had our very first wedding photography workshop in Munich where Andreas attended and become one of the first Candi Community Members.
During the two days in Munich we had the chance to get to know him a little better (btw, he is a fantastic graphic designer) and sure he didn’t miss to tell us all about his friend Adrian. His very own ballet star from the Vienna State Opera.
We knew why Andreas was so excited about Adrian when we met them during the wedding in summer 2012. What at stunning couple!
So, after knowing all our “secrets”, having seen us work on a live wedding, sitting together for one2one workshops, we were over the moon excited when we still got asked last year if we would be available to shoot their wedding in Vienna. This is the best compliment we can get and we are very very thankful for the trust into our work and us.
In addition, it was no secret, that this was our very first same sex wedding (or even photo shoot).
We started a wonderful late October day in Vienna maybe a tiny bit nervous but super excited. It’s been Carmen’s first time to shoot a man getting ready and to no surprise she very much LOVED it 🙂 – We should switch more often *justkidding*.
The emotional first look, the fun photo shoot and the wedding ceremony with jewish and kabbalastic elements was happening in Laxenburg on a Sunday. The park was packed during sunset and we had a great time shooting two handsome men in tuxedos.
What goes straight into our hearts is the fact, that these two people have so much love for one another and that neither one of them was afraid of showing it and letting emotions flow. The entire day has been about LOVE between two people and the promises of a lifetime together.
We learned a lot about Kabbalah and Jewish ceremonies that day and our lounges where exhausted by only watching the crowd do the “Hora” dance performance. No doubt, the first and only wedding where you burn more calories than you can eat!
The evening was filled with great food, emotional speeches and lots of (professional) dancing. We are very sure this party went till the morning hours.
While this was our first gay wedding at all, we can now say from own experience: LOVE IS LOVE and it has been just as amazing and lovely like any other of the over 200 weddings we have witnessed so far over the last decade.
Here is to THANK you guys for your unconditional trust into our work and us. We very much appreciate the honor you gave us to witness your amazing wedding day.
We wish you both all the best for your future together and hope to see you soon again!
