Early in 2013 the fellow wedding photographer Michael Palatini (former Hoberg) approached us for wedding photos. “Wedding photographers get married as well and are in need of nice photos too ;-)”, he said.
When it happens that talented people from our industry inquire for wedding photography it immediately causes to things: stress and excitement!
“Excitement” because it most of the time is a strong indicator for a beautiful wedding since they know what they want. And “stress” since, well yeah, they know what they want 😉
So, better not fail this time!
We haven’t heard back from them after the first contact for some time until Michael signed up for our Candi Wedding Workshop in Tuscany where we had the pleasure to meet him and Maria for the first time.
It wasn’t until the last night (approx. 3am in the morning) when Michael came down to the leftovers of the last workshop dinner in order to tell us, that Maria and him want us as their wedding photographers in July 2014.
To be honest, that was totally unexpected and one of the coolest booking situations ever. Getting hired, after a two and a half day workshop, unveiling all our “secrets” about our photography and business with a future wedding client, is probably the best compliment we can ever get for our work and us. We were and still are overwhelmed and thank you both so much for the trust into our work and uns!
A couple of weeks ago we drove up to Wanzleben near Magdeburg (Sachsen-Anhalt). A small and sleepy town with a fantastic wedding venue: Burg Wanzleben. We arrived at sunset and while scouting the landscape for great spots to shoot we hoped to have the same stunning light for the next evening too. Everything was covered in golden color. Prettiness at it’s finest! And yes we had, the same light! WOW!
It was great to see these lovely people again and feel their excitement for the coming day. Unbelievable how many DIY projects they had over the last year to make their wedding day as personal as possible.
Inspired by the Tuscan wedding from Angelika and Artur they had chosen the song from their Fusion Video to be the entry music when Maria and Michael first saw each other. It was hard not to tear up but as always, hiding behind a Canon body is a “life saver” in situations like that.
We love these moments where everyone at the scene can feel the love between two people! It’s moments like that what makes us proud to be part of such a day! What a stuning wedding! Thank you both for sharing your love with us! We wish you all the best for your future together and we hope to cross path someday soon again! You rock!
